of frustration and chocolate

tadaaaaaa.....okay, you may get the hint from the title on what this entry is all about. Good. I need not explain much since I am mentally and emotionally exhausted right now, friggin' exhausted! Look, you are allowed to be mad at the world once in a while, you're not robots, FGS.

So today wasn't my day. It was disastrous. Really? Whatever! But I refuse to dwell on it. Am I contradicting myself! Not dwelling but becoming an emotional eater. hahahaha

Long story short, I found a new trick for my sad self besides reading, dating and blogging which is BAKINGGGGG! Been baking for a while and it magically makes me believe that 'hey, there's some other ways that no human being alive can hurt you and it's BAKING!'

And the next thing I know, I'm in the kitchen chopping chocolate bars while waiting for the cream to simmer. Guess what? Chocolate truffles on the wayyyyyyyyy.

Since my babies aren't ready yet (still in fridge! grrrr), I present you chocolate truffles *pic credit to google*

Drooling? Don't blame me. Adios! *wink*

Engineering & Literature

Coincidently taught my engineering students literature (well, just a tiny part of literature). How did it happen? During the class, some of them used CAPITAL LETTERS in the CV write up. And I was just explaining on how all the words were screaming at me, wanting my undivided attention, oh and it annoyed me. (Thinks it annoys everyone) Writing in CAPS is considered rude, as if you're shouting to the readers. I suppose everybody knows this. Right?

So long story short! The poem Si Tenggang's Homecoming comes to my mind, on why the author used small letter of i instead of I in his poem. It's so brilliant that I only happen to know this during Dr Edwin's class (undergrad). Something that english teachers in school failed to explain or couldn't be bothered, about the essence of the poem, instead, rushing to finish up the syllabus. But, blaming teachers alone is absurd. Policy makers? Got it?

So, the reason on why the small i instead the big I is, the small i symbolizes his humbleness. Well I don't really want to go in depth about this poem but you can read it here, then you'll know what I mean.

So, anyway, I don't really believe that literature is not for everybody. Yes, It requires high order thinking skills (some think it's not as tougher as physics, math etc) *roll eyes* and it could really make us understand certain cultures better. IF you wanna learn English, you have to learn their literature. Literature is essential in learning a second or foreign language. Hope you know why. If not, go and ask your English teacher. =p

exhausted & frustrated

Sometimes i wish i can say 'get the fuck out of my life' or 'mind your own fucking business' or simply 'go to hell'...All these bad words will come out when i feel cheated and betrayed. And no, this has nothing to do with my love life!
At a second thought, i'm just hoping that i could change my profession, maybe teaching isn't the thing for me. Maybe i would do better in something else, something that is inside me since forever. Sigh
You see...When you have given all out and nobody appreciates and trusts you, that's it!
I may look like I don't care but that's totally the opposite of it. Life can be bitchy at times but I never fail to embrace it with a smile and courage.
I should have done better or perhaps, teaching is no longer my passion. Dealing with people who never trust you is sickening. Perhaps this is why we never progressed. We are so ignorant thinking we're the only referred and respected persons that the others have no value and should be observed and checked all time.
I refuse to be defensive as I believe I know what I have been doing so far. To say i don't care, that would be an understatement. But hell yes, if you want to check on me, be my guest! You are just as pathetic as the others.

So many issues, so less productive, so demotivated. Thanks a lot.

8 Natural Recipes for Amazing Skin…from a Plastic Surgeon

Turn back the clock with these natural anti-aging masks and recipes from ‘The Doctors’ plastic surgeon and beauty guru Andrew Ordon, MD.

By Lauren Gelman (www.rd.com)

Avocado-Honey Moisturizer

A moisturizer is an anti-aging must. By helping your skin retain moisture and acting as a temporary filler for wrinkles, it makes your complexion look smooth. Dr. Ordon says that his patients love this recipe because it makes their skin look and feel dewy, and youthful.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of fresh cream
1/4 avocado
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:
Place all three ingredients in a blender and puree into a smooth cream. Apply it to your skin and leave on for at least an hour. Rinse off with warm water.

Wrinkle-Fighting Salad

This energy-boosting fruit salad is packed with antioxidants, which protect the skin from sun damage and boost circulation to help deliver essential nutrients to skin. Eat it for breakfast to start your day on a beautiful note.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1 kiwi, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup organic orange juice
1 handful of chopped walnuts

Directions:
Combine first four ingredients in a small bowl. Pour the orange juice over the mixture and sprinkle with the walnuts.

Acne Spot Treatment

When you have a blemish that needs to disappear—stat—try this nifty trick, which Ordon picked up in the green room at The Doctors from beauty expert Kym Douglas. The yeast fights bacteria, the lemon helps dry the blemish.

Ingredients:
Brewer’s Yeast
A squeeze of lemon juice
Water

Directions:
Make a paste using a little bit of brewer’s yeast, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a bit of water. Apply right on your blemish and leave for 10 minutes, cover with a bandage.

Basil Toner

This recipe is great for those prone to acne. The basil acts as an antiseptic, helps clear acne-causing bacteria, and improves circulation to the skin.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons dried basil leaves
1 cup boiling water

Directions:
Crush up the dried basil leaves and mix them into a cup of boiling water. Once the mixture cools, strain out the leaves, put it in a spray bottle and spritz your skin. Use a cotton ball or pad to spread the toner gently around your face. Do this daily before cleansing.

Lemon-Agave Age Spot Fighter

Your hands are a dead giveaway of your age, but this scrub can help. Exfoliating your hands lifts off the top layer of dead skin cells, which contains some of the pigment leaving age spots behind.  The rice exfoliates, the agave hydrates, and the lemon helps lighten skin and lift off dead cells.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup cooked rice
1 tablespoon agave nectar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:
Mix together the above ingredients and blend well. Apply the mixture to dry hands, move the scrub around your hands in circular motions on the backs of your hands with firm but gentle pressure for one to two minutes. You can also rub this rice on the palms of the hands to soften calluses.

Almond-Sugar Facial Scrub

Regularly exfoliating your face helps get rid of dead skin cells (which dull your complexion) so your skin looks smoother and brighter.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of fresh cream
1 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of ground almonds
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:
Mix all ingredients well. Apply to dry face in a circular motion Wash your face off with warm water, followed by cold water. Pat your face dry. Place in a jar and store in your refrigerator for future use.

Coconut Deep Conditioner

Keep your hair smooth, hydrated, and shiny with this natural conditioning treatment; apply it once a week.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon coconut extract

Directions:
Mix ingredients together, apply and cover your scalp with a plastic wrap (like Saran Wrap). Leave on for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse hair thoroughly.

Java Lip Exfoliator

Sloughing dry, dead skin from your lips makes them look instantly plumper and pinker.

Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon of moisturizing lotion (such as Olay’s Active Hydrating Body Fluid)
1/4 teaspoon fresh coffee grounds
1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt

Directions:
Mix well in a bowl. Apply to entire mouth area and massage around for five minutes. Wipe clean with a warm wet washcloth.

Violets are blue, I heart you!

I always tell him he's insensitive. Instead, I'm the one who is insensitive
to his needs. Could it be that he is actually very sensitive till it's almost impossible for me to see I am being insensitive?

Need some motivation?

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

-Mother Teresa
